Diet Drugs and Other Pills

All of us who are lifelong dieters have tried at least one of the so-called "weight-loss pills" which promise to burn fat, resculpt the obese body, cut down appetite, and so on. Some years ago, serious prescription diet pills were used by those with chronic weight problems with great success. They were not illegal to use, and most doctors would prescribe this "speed" medication. The terrible down side to them was that they increased the heart rate, caused irritability and hyperactivity; when they were stopped, inevitably the weight gained was far more than the weight lost.

Most recently, overweight people who are desperate to get thin and fit again can obtain pills with an ingredient now known as "phen" slightly safer than the old style pills, but with serious side effects.

Let me tell you from my experience and that of many of my friends: expensive pills hyped by ads showing "before" and "after" fatties don't work. If you must try pills, you can safely order a product called Ditex online which is cheap and merely a fiber pill which makes you feel full. You can determine just how many to take and when during the day, depending upon when you feel most hungry. This product is also dispensed by "diet doctors" to people who can't take the risky stuff. Your cost if you order them yourself might be $15 for 30 days; doctors will charge you $75 and give you a month's supply!

Other than that, in your quest for fitness, please remember to take a multi-vitamin pill each day. For the over 40, 50, and 60 crowd, calcium tablets are extremely important. A woman of 50 or 60+ should take at least 1200 mg. of calcium daily, especially if she is small-boned, postmenopausal and takes no hormones.
